Allen Ferg

Having been raised in a family professionally schooled and trained in the fine arts, I was fortunate to have inherited some of my family’s talents and their appreciation of the early masters.
After college, the Marines and Vietnam, I became a lawyer instead of following a career in art. However, fine art has always been in my history and background. Over the years, I have been graciously mentored by other sculptors and am indebted to them for their constant encouragement and advice. I have attended several sculpture workshops, and read and study voraciously. When my family and I moved to Georgia in 2005, I had the opportunity to build my own studio where I now work and teach. I concentrate on portraits and figurative sculpture working in clay and bronze. I have been and continue to be heavily influenced by my history and by the beauty and grace of the human form and the classic sculptures that have endured over time.
