Ray Edge

Growing up in Georgia and working in my grandfather’s carpentry shop gave me a desire to create things, but I had no idea where my life would take me.

Life changed after receiving a scholarship to the High Museum of Art and a degree in Fine Arts. After a stint in the army I entered the graphic design field. After semi-retiring from a long career in advertising art,

I moved to the North Georgia woods where there was finally time to express my inner being and explore art. Free from the constraints of order and structure,

I began using any interesting materials that I found. These might be from Mother Nature, recycled or what others may call junk. In other words, any media that I can use to express myself in an artistically, meaningful way You will find some of my art serious and dark and others, playful and colorful. This is very much how I view life and maintain balance.
